Pregnancy Yoga Group Classes

Yoga is one of the best forms of exercise during pregnancy. It’s a great way to relieve aches and pains as well as supporting you physically and emotionally during a time of huge change.  It’s also a safe and gentle way to build strength, can help prepare your body for birth and helps to promote a sense of well-being and confidence.

Our pregnancy yoga classes combine strengthening and stretching postures with breathing techniques and relaxation.  They will help you build stamina which is so useful for the birth. Exercises stimulate all systems of the body, releasing muscular tensions, supporting the skeletal system, balancing hormones, calming the nervous system and nourishing the endocrine and lymphatic systems. Postures have been carefully adapted to provide a safe and nurturing practice throughout your pregnancy.  Our classes are designed for healthy women who are experiencing normal pregnancy and are particularly well suited to individuals who were active before pregnancy.  If you are experiencing complications in your pregnancy or are new to exercise, please get in touch before signing up.  We can discuss your specific requirements and advise whether you may be better suited to a much gentler form of pregnancy yoga.

If you had a regular yoga practice before pregnancy, our classes are suitable from week 1 right up to the birth.  If you are new to yoga, we recommend you wait until after 12 weeks before commencing

I was incredibly privileged to be taught pregnancy yoga from the highly respected author of the book “Yoga For Relaxed Pregnancy”, Ursula Mader.  Using her methods, I was able to safely continue my own yoga practice from week one, right up to the day before I gave birth.  Based in Berlin, Ursula has been a midwife for over 40 years and registered yoga teacher for over 16 years. She was incredibly generous in sharing her knowledge and wisdom, for which I am immensely grateful.

Our pregnancy yoga classes are normally based in Wandsworth, South West London. Due to coronavirus, we are currently offering classes online via Zoom so pregnant ladies across the UK are welcome to join.
